Ten months ago I had new brake discs and pads fitted. Today I want to paint my callipers.
I'll go for Blue.
Let's do that now.
I have borrowed a jack and some blocks.
I've decided on Sky Blue as my colour
Foliatec seems to have the best reviews and a range of colours.
I order online and it arrives fast.
Brush, spray cleaner and gloves are all in this kit
Naturally each caliper must be cleaned before painting.
While I'm here I will clean then paint the brake dust shield.
I will use a black paint pen which I previously bought for a different job.
So let's try it on this dust shield and see if it looks good.
Looks all right.
I finish the rest of the shield and turn my focus back on to the caliper. The instructions say to mix 2.5 parts hardener to one part paint.
I will mix enough for three coats
Let's go...
The first coat has dried so it’s time for the second
I'll use the paint pen again.
With the hub painted and a third coat of Foliatec Sky Blue on the calliper...
BOOM!
DOUBLE BOOM!
I will tackle the rear callipers, dust shields and hubs next weekend.
Thanks for visiting.
And feel free to stay tuned for more modifications I have planned.Foliatec calliper paint available here on Amazon
