Today I want to change the colour of my wing mirrors, from Aqua Blue to Gloss Black.
It should fit the style I am going for with my Yeti.
Nothing at all wrong with my Blue covers.
I just want to make my Yeti look a little different from the crowd
A search online and I locate the correct covers: SL0 072 530.
I order and they arrive fast.
Let's get on with it.
I start by easing part of my finger underneath the mirror glass and carefully prise it away a little. I do the same further along a bit.
I hear a healthy ‘click’ and not a dreaded ‘snap’ – the mirror is out
And intact. 😰
But these two wires are the heated mirror wires…
Once I unclip these wires the mirror is free.
I'll put it inside my Yeti somewhere or I will step on it, I know it.
Now I need to undo two small Torx screws.
The Torx screws are out.
Now there are two retaining tabs that need pushing down with my finger.
Without not much force, I push down on them
Using my fingernails from the back of my mirror cover I pull and it separates from the wing mirror and I am happy that I have broken nothing.😇
I put it in my Yeti for safety.
Out comes a shiny new black beauty
I repeat everything I have just done in reverse.
One side complete.
It looks nice.
Naturally, I must repeat the entire process on the other side.
I also pack away the Aqua Blue mirror covers.Want to buy them from me?
Just a heads up: many of my posts contain affiliate links of products I have bought for my Yeti.
If you buy something from one of these links, you will not pay a penny more.
I will get a small commission, although not every time.
The extra pennies help me to pay the annual cost of the domain name.
I thank you for your support.
Good times.
Thank you for visiting.
And feel free to stay tuned for more Yeti modifications I have planned.
