I have already de-chromed the rest of my Yeti so these Silver letters have to go.
I found ones that suit my style online and ordered them. They arrived fast.
Let's get the old silver letters off and the new black letters on.
Some masking tape gives me a straight line.
The masking tape also prevents scratching from the plastic pry tool
The first letter is off...
Now all of them are...
The only thing I trust to scrape off this old sponge and glue without leaving scratches is my nail
I use a damp cloth to clean the area.
I will place my new letters below these spots I am marking.
I use my Yeti pen from the glove compartment. 😀
These new letters do come with sticky backing but for added piece of mind I will use dabs of Pattex Extreme Repair.
I've used this on other things and I have had complete success with it.
It isn't instant like Super Glue, but within an hour or so it hardens and then whatever it's sticking isn't going anywhere. 💪
First letter on.
I will use masking tape below the letters to stop them sliding downwards.
Around 30 or so minutes later, and...
BOOM!
So long, old friends.
And so off to the supermarket cafeteria for lunch.
Nice job, me.
Good times.
Thanks for visiting.
And feel free to stay tuned for more Yeti modifications I have planned.
